I am very excited to announce what is happening with the Shoppes of Old Kapaa Town! We have united together – the 4 or 5 blocks of locally owned mom and pop shops, artists, deliciously fresh restaurants, and one of a kind boutiques to form the entity “The Shoppes of Old Kapaa Town”. If you were not aware of this unique little area, that very few talk about, that has been deemed a thoroughfare of the North Shore traveling to Lihue, just look a little closer to this underground, unique group of inspired entrepreneurs thinking outside the box. Oct 15th Eco Fashion Show!
We are putting together an exciting fashion show for the Kauai Healing Garden Festival, Oct.15th at Kilohana. The a.ell design team will be showcasing high end pieces such as hand made, hand painted gowns, wedding dresses, and silk corsets with a modern day fairy tale type of theme. This year we are able to go big with the help of Ash Mello creating over the top hair styling and Clairin SunSook Goodman on the makeup scene. Kyahnasum will be mixing the music while Gabby Harrington stars as a prima ballerina. We even have a prince (in leather) – and that is all I’m going to say….. [more]
a.ell design corsets!

I’ve been doing lots of odd jobs around the shop, all the while learning just about everything I can about a. ell. design. Mostly, that last part involves touching and trying on every piece of clothing I can get my hands on, from the multifaceted wrap dress, to the simple, but ever so soft, bamboo tees. My most important criteria for clothes in general is that they must be able to be worn with my very old and faded blue-jean cutoffs, so you can only imagine what I thought Angelique’s new corsets should be worn with. Drop Waist Dress
A new and exciting eco dress to add to the a.ell family! With it’s comfortable scoop neck and cap sleeve (similar to one of our most popular shirt styles) its bound to be your new favorite island dress. Its become a best selling piece due to the flattering drop waist, elongating the torso and showing off those legs. Wear this dress over jeans, pair it with leggings and boots, or for those of us lucky enough to live in the sunshine year around – wear it simply as is! You also have the choice to wear the high scoop neck line in either the front or turn it around and wear high at the back. Of course the bamboo and organic cotton blend fabric is super luxe to touch and that only adds to the reason you must have this Kauai made dress. [more]
